About
I'm a CS senior at SFSU who ended up somewhere between two worlds — spent two internship cycles configuring VPNs and firewalls on production networks at BlazeNet, and then went and built a live product anyway. Corridor started as a portfolio project and turned into something people actually use to check remittance rates. I like the parts of software that touch the systems it runs on, and I like shipping things that work under real traffic, not just in a demo.
On the software side, I work across Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, and SQL — most recently building and shipping Corridor to real users. On the infrastructure side, I've spent two internship cycles at BlazeNet configuring VPNs, firewalls, and routing policies on production networks. I like problems that sit at that intersection — where code meets the systems it actually runs on.
Outside of coursework, I contribute to outreach and event organization for SFSU's ACM and SF Hacks chapters, and I'm a Fall 2026 fellow in SFSU's President's Leadership Fellows Program.

Live productRemittance fee comparison platform
Sending money abroad, providers will quote wildly different totals for the same transfer — and none of them show you the number that actually matters: how much of your money disappears into fees and FX markup versus the real mid-market exchange rate. Corridor ranks remittance providers by real total cost across live international send corridors, computed against the true mid-market rate, so the cheapest option is obvious rather than buried in marketing copy. Coverage is expanding — both in providers tracked and corridors supported — with data sourcing increasingly automated rather than manually maintained.
It's not a class project sitting in a repo — it's a deployed product at corridor-red.vercel.app, hardened for real traffic: social/SEO metadata, rate limiting and a honeypot bot-check on signup, and a public methodology page documenting the cost formula (the same one the World Bank's Remittance Prices Worldwide database uses), so the ranking is verifiable rather than a black box. An email rate-alert feature, built on the Buttondown API and tied to the specific corridor a visitor is viewing, is the product's core retention loop.
How it works
The mid-market rate is pulled live from the Frankfurter FX API on every search. Live data has a failure mode a static number doesn't: after switching FX sources, a handful of thin-margin providers briefly showed an impossible negative cost — beating the mid-market rate itself. Root-causing it meant reproducing the exact API response for the affected currency pairs and tracing the math through, which surfaced a real bug in the rate-integrity guard: it could reject a fetch during a genuine, sustained currency move and then get permanently stuck serving a stale rate, with no way to recover short of a restart. The fix makes the guard self-heal — a real move gets confirmed on a second independent reading and adopted, while a one-off flaky snapshot still gets rejected — verified with a scenario test against the live module before shipping.

Team projectRecipe discovery & grocery planning
Co-developed for CSC 317 at SFSU: search any dish, browse curated YouTube recipe videos, and save the ingredients straight to a personal grocery list — turning recipe discovery into an actionable shopping trip rather than a bookmarked tab you never revisit. The backend handles session-based authentication with bcrypt-hashed passwords, a relational Postgres schema modeling users, dishes, and ingredients, and integrates the YouTube Data API for real-time video search. Deployed on Vercel with a production Neon Postgres database, handling live user accounts and search traffic rather than running against local/mock data.
